Our Community of Practice

Who we are

The founding members of the SPIRIT Collective, LLC would like to invite you to join our co-learning community of practitioners interested in integrating a sense of spirit, mind, and body in clinical practice.

A co-learning community, if you're not familiar, is a community of practice, a group of people who come together on a regular basis to learn from one another about shared areas of interest.

We are interested in integrating a sense of spirit, mind, and body in clinical practice using culturally responsive African psycho-spiritual principles and values in relationship to the lived experience of people of African descent and those who are Black-identified.  We are also interested in being responsive to the lived experience of people of color, and anti-racist identified practitioners serving all clients holistically.

Why we exist

For over the last decade, we have been researching and practicing techniques with people of African descent based on ancient African psycho-spiritual principles for self-knowledge, self-care, and what we term everyday spiritual success: moment-to-moment awareness of who you are, while functioning optimally as what you are.

Often clinicians adopt Eastern inspired mind-body practices in their work that insufficiently center the human spirit the way indigenous African people are drawn to the spiritual dimension of life. We would love an opportunity to help you build a spirit-centered foundation to begin transforming your existing clinical practice.

What we do

What can the community of practice do for you?

As a start, the community can help you learn what you need to know to begin integrating your sense of spirit, mind, and body into an existing clinical practice from a culturally responsive framework. We will support you in knowing and caring for yourself while you are transforming your practice to help your clients integrate their sense of spirit, mind, and body. Over time, we will have opportunities for ongoing continuing education and to potentially co-learn while you train other clinicians.

If you intend to practice as your authentic self, creating or working in an environment that's culturally affirming and inclusive, and you haven't found a learning community to support your development, this might be for you.
